You have already been to several doctors, but the pain is still there?
You have invested time, attended appointments, and tried various therapies, but no noticeable change has occurred. Often frustration or despair arise: What else can help?
These situations occur particularly frequently:
Their complaints are considered in isolation
Individual findings are emphasized without taking into account the overall context.
→ The result: The actual trigger of the pain remains unclear.
Treatments only address the symptom.
The focus is on treating the pain itself, without specifically addressing the underlying cause.
→ The result: The symptoms keep coming back because the actual triggers are not recognized.
Different approaches are not coordinated with each other
You receive several therapies that are not connected with each other.
→ The result: They try out measures that don’t suit their situation.
Your daily life remains unconsidered during treatment
Therapies are difficult to implement or do not fit into your life.
→ The result: progress remains elusive or is not permanent.
Therefore, you need an approach that considers your complaints in context and specifically investigates the cause.

Frequently asked questions about the Pain Workshop in Munich
What awaits me in the Pain Workshop, my pain center in Munich?
Our pain center, the Schmerzwerkstatt München, specializes in the treatment of chronic or recurring pain. Unlike traditional individual treatment, complaints are comprehensively examined here. This means that not only individual findings or symptoms are considered, but also the history, the course of the complaints, and the impact on daily life are taken into account.
The goal is to understand the relationships and, on this basis, develop a treatment that targets the relevant triggers specifically.
When is the Pain Workshop, your pain center in Munich, suitable?
A pain center like the Schmerzwerkstatt is suitable when pain persists for an extended period (longer than 3–6 months), recurs repeatedly, or does not resolve long-term despite various treatments.
Many affected individuals have already tried several therapies and received different assessments, without any clear direction emerging. It is precisely in such situations that a specialized approach helps to reclassify the symptoms and develop a structured treatment path.
How does treatment at a pain center like the Schmerzwerkstatt work?
At the beginning, a detailed diagnosis is performed. This includes a detailed conversation, a physical examination, and the joint evaluation of existing findings such as MRI or X-ray images.
Based on this, it is assessed which factors trigger or maintain the pain. Subsequently, a therapy tailored to the individual is developed that combines various approaches.
In the further course of treatment, the progress of the symptoms is regularly monitored so that the treatment can be adapted specifically.
Do I need a referral for a pain center like the Schmerzwerkstatt München?
Whether a referral is necessary depends on the specific facility and your insurance status. In many cases, you can also make an appointment without a referral. A referral is usually not necessary.
It is advisable to clarify the matter in advance. It is especially important that you bring existing findings, documents, and especially existing X-rays, CT scans, and MRI scans with you to the appointment. Only then can an independent assessment of the imaging material and thus a as comprehensive assessment as possible be made.
Is the treatment in a pain center such as the Pain Workshop covered by the health insurance company?
As a rule, treatment is covered by health insurance companies. Some services are not included in the list of services provided by statutory health insurance companies and are therefore subject to a fee. If necessary, you will receive information about potential costs before the start of treatment, so that you can make an informed decision.
Do I have to expect an operation at my pain center, the Schmerzwerkstatt München?
Our focus is on conservative, non-surgical treatments. The goal is to reduce symptoms and understand the causes before invasive measures are considered.
An operation is only recommended when it is truly medically necessary and other treatment approaches are not effective enough.
